TappIT PDM-SMB is Small and Medium size of Businesses target software page. PDM-SMB is based on TappIT PDM robust product information management system with very lean and minimum support for office functions needed in Flexible packaging or other web based industries. PDM-SMB solution target is to make possible for SMB companies to increase their production volumes without increasing overhead cost. Development target is to be able to manage 3000 - 4000 order per year with max. 2 persons at office. With this target SMB companies can compete against so called "garage"-companies where single person has purchased slitting machine and run production at his home in "garage". As well the cost level and professional way of managing order will make SMB company very attractive for bigger companies to be used as subcontractor.

TappIT PDM-SMB is build up following modules and functions:

PDM - Product Data management : "dimensional industry" -product definition modules, Item management, Resource and performance management, ready made product management, pre-costing and resource calculation, Shop floor support.
OM - Order management : Order entry, Delivery planning, Production batches, order confirmation
PP - Production Planning : Resource planning (rough and detail), Tools reservation, material reservation, capacity management,
WH - Warehouse management : Item receive, item delivery, stock placement, inventory, purchase order
QC - Quality control : Test definition (Item Grade or Warehouse Item), test register, test result, alarms
LO - Logistic : Shipment planning, Shipment document management, Shipment delivery
IN - Invoicing : Invoicing queue, delivery invoice, week/monthly invoice, payment tracking
B2B: Business to Business limited interface and functions over extranet,XML and SOA

In order to keep installation time short, product/project price low and education need limited, other components than PDM has been build base on KISS-philosophy (Keep It Simple and Small). Target is to have all components installed and in use with in 3-5 months after project startup. Project organization would contain 1-2 part time consult from TappIT and one part time project leader from Customer.
